Біографія

Алекс Джордж народився в Іст Фрімантл, Західна Австралія 4 квітня 1939 року[5].

У 1963 у він закінчив Університет Західної Австралії. Від 1981 до 1993 Алекс Джордж жив у Канберрі та працював відповідальним редактором циклу Flora of Australia. Він зробив значний внесок у ботаніку, описавши багато видів насіннєвих рослин.

Наукова діяльність

Алекс Джордж спеціалізується на насіннєвих рослинах[4]. Його наукова діяльність охоплює вивчення підродини цезальпінієвих, родини Миртові, родини Орхідні та родини протейних (Proteaceae)[5].
