Баррі Болтон (англ. Barry Bolton) — англійський мірмеколог, провідний фахівець з класифікації, систематики та таксономії мурашок[1].

Біографія

У 1971—2004 рр. працював у Британському музеї природознавства (Лондон). Член Королівського ентомологічного товариства Лондона. Відомий своїми роботами про африканських мурах та трьома великими монографіями, в яких дав повний огляд усіх мурах світової фауни, включаючи визначник, каталог видів та нову реклассифікацію (1994, 1995, 2003). За книгу 1994 року (ілюстрований визначник родів мурах світу) Болтон отримав нагороду Ассоціації американських видавців у категорії біологічних наук (1994 Winner of the Professional/Scholarly Publishing Award of the Association of American Publishers, Biological Science Category)[2]. Його ревізия триби Dacetini (2000) включає опис великої кількості нових для науки видів мурах в одній роботі (454 нових видів у книзі 2000 року обсягом більше ніж 1000 сторінок)[3].
