Біографія

Дозуа народився 23 липня 1947 року в Сейлемі, штат Массачусетс[1]. У 1965 році закінчив середню школу Сейлема. З 1966 по 1969 роки служив в армії журналістом, після чого переїхав до Нью-Йорка, щоб працювати редактором наукової фантастики.

Література

Як письменник Гарднер Дозуа працював в основному в короткій літературній формі. Він шість разів був серед номінантів на премію «Г'юго» за найкраще оповідання, але лише два рази отримав її у 1984 році за Миротворця, у 1985 — за Morning Child. У 1972, 1973 і 2001 роках він був серед номінантів премії «Неб'юла» в категорії за найкращу коротку повість; в 1974 році був претендентом на «Неб'юлу» за найкращу повість; в 1979 році претендував на «Неб'юлу» за найкращий роман (за Strangers).

Його оповідання були зібрані у збірках: The Visible Man (1977), Geodesic Dreams, Slow Dancing through Time (1990, у співпраці), Strange Days (2001), Morning Child and Other Stories (2004) і When the Great Days Come (2011). Як романіст Дозуа є автором єдиного роману — Strangers (1978).
