Опис

Це мікроскопічні водорості, що поширені у прісних водоймах по всьому світу.[2] Колонії Calothrix утворюють нерозгалужені, синьо-зелені, оливково-зелені або коричневі нитки (завдовжки від 4 до 80 мкм) з короткими циліндричними клітинами.
